MISSION: To Serve and Preserve Neighborhoods

The mission of CONO is to serve as a facilitator,
working with government agencies, neighbors and organizations to provide planning and information that protect and preserve the integrity
of our neighborhoods and the community as a whole.

CONO's Board Members

    President: Dave Munger from the Old North End Neighborhood
    1st Vice President: Liz Lancaster from Cragmore Village
    Treasurer: Susanne Barr from the Old North End Neighborhood
    Secretary: Mike Ham from the Soaring Eagles Neighborhood
    Director At Large: Rick Hoover from the Rustic Hills Improvement Association
    Director At Large: Welling Clark from the Organization of Westside Neighbors
    Past President, ex-officio: Mrs. Francine Hansen from Mountain Shadows Community Association
    Director Emeritus: Jan Doran from Discovery Neighborhood

 

CONO at Work In Our Community

The Council of Neighbors and Organizations plays an active roll in many local issues concerning neighborhoods. Here are a few:

  • Advocacy of public safety priorities
  • Anti-Slapp Legislation
  • Assistant to develop neighborhood associations
  • Candidate Forums
  • Development of the Colorado Springs Comprehensive Plan and future land use maps and Geologic Constraints map
  • Development review process committee
  • East/West Mobility Study (Citizens Resource Group)
  • Education issues as they relate to support of public schools, which are centers for our neighborhoods.
  • Geologic Hazard Ordinance committee
  • Mixed-use Neighborhood Development committee
  • Open space advocacy

  • Springs Community Improvement Program (SCIP)
  • Streamside Overlay
  • Support for individual neighborhood issues
