Appendix 1

CHECKLIST


1. Contact CONO for assistance, and points of contacts.

2. Determine reason for organizing and define Goal and Vision.

3. Organize an ad hoc committee to do the preliminary research, documentation, and groundwork, enlist volunteers, and request assistance from City and County agencies.

4. Hold an election for the ad hoc committee board.

5. Do the necessary research to identify what has been done before, define the boundaries for the planned organization, document all proceedings, and draft documents such as By-laws, petition, budget, etc.

6. Hold a public meeting for the residents of the area included in the organization, elect the Board of Directors, ratify the by-laws and other documents, and circulate the petition.

7. Register the organization with the City and State.

8. Hold first General Membership meeting, and document proceedings to ratify the documentation.
