Wildlife Management
CONO is working on developing a plan for managing wildlife, including wild dogs, in the City of Colorado Springs and El Paso County.
CONO’s Executive Board has been charged by the membership to begin this plan by concentrating on the management of coyotes, particularly in Colorado Springs. The Executive Board will be reporting periodically on its progress.
The Colorado Division of Wildlife is responsible for dealing with wild animals. You should report injured, distressed or problem animals to DOW. Both Colorado Springs and El Paso County contract with the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region to deal with lost, abandoned, and dangerous domestic animals. You should report such animals to the Humane Society: 719-473-1741; 610 Abbot Lane, Colorado Springs, CO 80905
