Our Programs

Our Focus

CONO strives to strengthen the public process and increase the capacity of public and private organizations to resolve community issues and empower residents to further shape their quality of life.

Community

Collaboration among neighbors allows for a healthy democracy ensuring broad participation and perspectives in our community. CONO connects people within and across neighborhoods to build community.

Neighborhoods

Neighborhoods are the building blocks of cities and counties, and are the basic units of democracy. For 41 years, CONO has preserved and protected hundreds of neighborhoods throughout El Paso & Teller Counties.

Education

Through education and training, CONO empowers individuals and associations to advocate on their own behalf.

Our
Programs

These are a few of our most recent programs. Each and every year, we help and advocate for residents from over 800 neighborhoods in El Paso & Teller Counties.

Neighborhood Pride Program

CONO’s NeighborUp! Neighborhood Pride program is designed to help established
neighborhoods maintain their appearance and value. The program is a cooperative
effort between CONO, Colorado Springs Neighborhood Services, volunteers, community
businesses, and residents to eliminate city code violations and to offer assistance to individual property owners for improvement of their properties by the award of materials and volunteer help. Typical improvements completed during the enhancement segment of the project include exterior house painting, fence/gate repair, removal of unwanted items, and placement of gravel in front yards and driveways. Upon completion, CONO will work with neighborhood leaders to help establish a plan for maintaining the neighborhood in the future.

The next Neighborhood Pride Project is still being planned. Fill out the application below for your neighborhood to be considered for the next Neighborhood Pride project!
