CONO Announces Leadership Transition: A New Chapter Begins

With confidence in the future, and deep gratitude for her contributions, we share that our esteemed Executive Director, Sara Vaas, will be departing on Friday, May 3rd. We extend our deepest gratitude to Sara for her exceptional contributions during her tenure.

Since joining CONO in 2015, Sara's leadership has been instrumental in helping CONO fulfill its mission of inspiring vibrant communities where everyone loves their neighborhood. She played a key role in the organization's growth, from its early days as a 501(c)(3) to its current success. Notably, Sara spearheaded the development of a new strategic plan with the board and staff, forged valuable partnerships, graduated over 100 neighborhood leaders through the Neighborhood University program, and significantly improved our operational stability.

CONO's Commitment Remains Strong

We want to assure you that CONO's dedication to our city, neighborhoods, and mission of fostering community love remains unwavering. Sara leaves behind a strong foundation for continued growth.

The Board of Directors is actively engaged in the search for a new leader, and we're confident the staff will ensure a smooth transition.

Looking Forward Together

We're grateful for your continued support and excited for this next chapter in CONO's journey. Together, we'll keep building vibrant neighborhoods where everyone thrives.

Please feel free to reach out to the Board at information@cscono.org with any questions about the transition or CONO's future.

Sincerely,

Board Chair

Bree Shelito
